Fuerteventura - 2020
Moonscape
In november, in the mindle of the pandemic, I went to Fuerteventura for four weeks to get some sun and training as well. Once again I stayed at Playitas. After two weeks my mother enjoyed the trip as well.
For two days we rented a car and traveled around the island. We visited places like: Corralejo, El Cotillo, Puerto del Rosario, Jandia and Cofete where we passed Mirador de Cofete (wow).
The view of Mirador de Cofete is outstanding and the long beach at Playa de Cofete is magnific as well. On our way to Cofete we stayd at Morro Jable for great lunch.
Every night my mom and I sat on the balcony playing Yahtzee and listening to Julio Iglesias.
Did my mother liked Fuerteventura and Playitas?
Well, the answer is both yes and no. She found the place a little "dead town" and missed the market places to shop around. I think the fact that I had to work during the day forcing her to spend the days alone, contributed to the boredom so to speak.
However, she enjoyed the road trips getting see the island and its lunar/moonscape.
Playitas itself makes no one dissapointed. There are really no limitations when it comes to training opportunities. They offer a wide palette, there is always something that suits you.
What's best about Fuerteventura and Playitas?
Renting a car and travelling around the island is great. The nature is fantastic and all the beaches as well. Mirador de Cofete is outstanding. If raining days why not visit the shopping center in Puerto del Rosario.
Corralejo, the "Mecca surfers paradise", is also worth visiting. On a sunny day you can see the neighbor island Lanzarote.
