Taormina - 2023

In Good Company

What do Goethe, Alexander Dumas, Johannes Brahms, Gustav Klimt, D.H. Lawrence, Richard Wagner, Oscar Wilde, Truman Capote, John Steinbeck, Ingmar Bergmann, Francis Ford Coppola, Leonard Bergman, Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Federico Fellini, Cary Grant, Gregory Peck, Elisabeth Taylor and Woody Allen have in common? Simple - they have all sojourned in Taormina, the pearl of the Mediterranean.

I stayed at Residence Terra Rossa Taormina for two weeks. The hotel has a fantastic sea view, especially from the restaurant. On one side Sicily, on the other Italy south corner  and the mediterranean in between. The environment gives you peace of mind and a relaxed atmosphere.  The crew are amazing.. thanks for helping me with all the heavy bags :)

As a tourist, you are struck by italians extraordinary ability to build houses on high mountains. Incredible.

The main attraction is, without a doubt, the theatre. To go there from the hotel you hade to walk the "Stairs to Taormina", it's really tough. Good training, exactlly what I needed :)

Another attraction is of course visiting Etna. Hm.. I'm ashamed, but, for me, there was never a visit :(

What's best with Taormina?

I would say the fantastic view and the urban architecture. Also the people, always warm heart and a smile on the face.

Going there early in the spring is also very tasteful, to see all the colors and flowers that blooming, fantastic.
