Tropea - 2023

Azure Blue

I really understand why Tropea is called the pearl of Claberia. A fantastic city built on rocks next to the Thyrenian Sea.

From Pizzo, which was my base for five weeks, I made my way here several times. It took about 45 minutes to get there by car. I used to walk around for one - two hour, just to enjoy the buildings along the azure ocean.

When visiting Tropea, dont miss Chiesa Della Sanita o dei Cappuccini. A beautiful church to visit from inside and outside as well.  The building is wonderful located in the amazing Tropea city. From here uou can take "top pictures" to remembering. I recommend to all to come and see it.

Chiesa Della Sanita o dei Cappuccini Church with adjoining convent run by the Franciscans. Its original construction dates back to 1595/98 then the church in 1717 was enlarged and 3 chapels were created dedicated to S. Francesco, the Immaculate Conception and S. Antonio. The church houses the only canvas by Giovanni Angelo d'Amato, a 16th century painter depicting the Madonna della Sanità. Also interesting is the inlaid wooden tabernacle from 1717 and the reproduction of the Porziuncola chapel.

What's best with Tropea?

The old town, restaurants, the cafes, the magical sea view and of course the church Chiesa Della Sanita o dei Cappuccini I would say.
